Self-Isolation

Exhibition TextFor my inspiration I was able to find a local artist that I was able to connect my work with and be able to try to get some shots the way that they were taking images as well. I will be able to get some sort of connection of which I could connect to his work, this will allow me to explain my thinking and ideas of how I was able to find his work as my inspiration for my work.

Inspiration
For my inspiration I was able to connect my digital work with a local artist in Milwaukee by the name of Irvin Perez of which he is known as a photographer. In this case I was able to find some of his personal work and connect it to mine since I was focusing into something digital for this project. I was able to take some shots of mine that I personally wanted to connect to his. I found this part to be very fun and really inspirational coming from me who I can say that I am very interested into the view of photography.

I wanted to base my work off this local artist because of how he was able to take shots in which not only were very detailed but because of how he is able to take shots where he can also add words or text on the image where it would look natural in the image itself. However, for my work I felt that adding the text in the image would not match but I did my best to my ability to get certain shots and angles where there is some connection between my work and his in ways where I was able to get black and white shots like in some of his work.

Planning
Throughout my planning I found it to be somewhat difficult to get the process together because of instead of getting shots of me editing the images so I was able to take more additional images of where I could include to my process. In this case, I was able to get some shots at home/downtown near the lake in raw format with my phone. I found it to be very interesting to see the combination between the raw look and the editing look after looking at both sides of photos. In this case I found it successful in my opinion after getting these pretty nice and clear shots of my planning for this project.

Techniques/ProcessFor my technique and process, I was able to take some photos of which I found also very successful because I was able to play around with the lighting that the lam was giving, on the other hand I was also able to take a raw image of the clear sky, in order to get that image resolution to seem very pixel-y I was zoomed in just enough to get the clear image but at the same time be able to get the correct amount of color from behind where I was and the right composure from light to dark.

Reflection
Reflecting back and being able to chose one image of all that I took I wanted to chose this one, the reason to why is because I felt that just by simply getting the correct placement and lighting I was able to get a very clear, clean and getting the right contrast I got the perfect shot of a tone that this photograph gives. However, if I were to edit this image it could also give it a completely different tone, color, mood and contrast because of how it was taken. In my opinion it would not look as clear if this image was edited, in this case I left this image the way it was because of how I wanted it to be seen as a raw photograph with no editing and no other type of color given to it.
