MIAD
Modified Bin
As my ideas, thoughts as well as my products are being well thought of and being able to get sorted out I came to a conclusion that the creation of two separate garbage bins with designs describing in which how each garbage bin will be identified. However there is not a certainly a good product that is sorted out but these are some of my own ideas in which I believe that will may work out as well as be able to contribute to creating this product and creating a solution.
Inspiration
For the past periods of classes that Murf from MIAD has come into our class and demonstrated and given use ideas to which what we are able of doing and what our ideas might be into coming through this certain project due to the fact that we are able to create anything that we might have in mind whether if it is something so small or if it is something big. Regardless for the past classes I have been creating my own ideas to not only coming up with a certain problem solving having to do with helping the environment but as well as finding a solution to helping our own lives to be easier by recycling and separating certain things from one another when it comes down to waste. I was able to finally come down to a conclusion to create an idea to where I could create a prototype of what I want my product to end up like or where it can change the outline or idea about it.
Process: Prototype
Throughout my process I was able to create my prototype out of a shoe box. I was able to cut out parts of the box such as the lid of the box and the sides of the shoe box where I was able to create a little format of which it looked like a basketball hoop with a hole in the center of it where it would fall into.

I was able to use the lid of the shoe box, cut it into half and use those into 4 separate pieces and even them out to make sure that when I glue them they would not overlay on top with the other pieces. To a result I was successful into creating this prototype, I was amazed that it resulted the way I wanted it to be and the idea of using a simple shoe box to make a sample of what my product might end up like.

Process: Prototype 2For my second prototype I was able to get easy to use materials such as super glue and foam board. I found it interesting that with using foam board it made it much easier to build my second prototype and to a result there were a few other things that made my final product look clean compared to my first prototype.
Some things that I wish I could have done better throughout the process of making this product were to make my product into a bigger size, I attempted to make my final prototype bigger than my first and to a conclusion I was successful to create it a little bigger than my original size. I found this process to be very helpful with the materials I used and with the use of super glue was also very unique which also made my prototype look clean. |
|
With the process of comparing and contrasting from my first prototype to my second I was able to reflect between the two and conclude that my 1st was a little more messy and considered as my rough draft to see where and how I could have used in home materials and see what I was able to create with my own materials. Comparing to my 2nd and finalized prototype I came to the conclusion that using foam board and super glue was much more easier to use and it did not make such a mess compared to using a hot glue gun, however using super glue was possibly one of the most useful materials that I was able to purchase. In the end, I was satisfied with my outcome of this prototype even though it was not the size I would have expected it to be I was pretty happy with my outcome, however this project might still be something I will work on in the future into creating it in a semi human size.
ACT Reflection
1) Clearly explain and describe how you are able to identify the cause-effect relationships between your inspiration and its effect upon your artwork.
I am able to identify the cause and effect relationship between my inspiration and its effect upon my artwork because of how one of MIAD industrial designers inspired me to create something for someone that I was inspired to create this piece of work.
2) What is the overall approach (point of view) the author (from your research) has regarding the topic of your inspiration?
The overall approach regarding the topic of my inspiration is to show how I was able to create a object that will allow to help someone and maybe inspire them to create something of their own someday.
3) What kind of generalizations and conclusions have you discovered about people, ideas, cultures, etc. while you researched your inspiration?
The kind of generalization and conclusions have discovered about this work with inspiration was about how someones work is able to inspire someone else to create something more out of the box type of work and create more ideas for others.
4) What was the central idea or theme around your inspirational research?
The central idea for my inspirational research was to help my family member to allow their kids to play with this prototype and help them multitask as their kids also help out in a fun way to clean while they are doing something else.
5) What kind of inferences (conclusions reached on the basis of evidence and reasoning) did you make while reading your research?
The type of inferences I made while researching was that maybe adding kid type of stickers and colors it would emphasize the amount of attention a kid would see this prototype.
