Drowning Light
Acrylic on Canvas
January - February 2020 5cm x 7cm |
Exhibition TextDrowning Light is able to have multiple perspectives of how, what and the way that the audiences is able to see this picture as. Not only can this depict a feeling, emotion, thought or memory. However, me who has created this piece of art has a much more deeper meaning towards to why it was made. This not only has been a symbol of how much pain it feels when I see something so beautiful from the outside but there is no context of which how it or they feel from the inside because of everything it has gone through or how much they have gone through.

Inspiration
Being able to create a piece of art of my own that I personally wanted to do was not only challenging for myself but it allowed me to find some sort of style that I wanted to base my art as. Which this can not only make it difficult, however for my inspiration I found it hard for me to find a way to inspire my artwork as a whole, but I was able to find a way for me to connect my art to other artworks that I was able to find. Throughout the process of my artwork I was also able to find some way for me to get inspired within my own artworks that I have made in the past which also led me to getting ideas and ways for me to do this choice piece of my own.

The Process:
During the creation of this project it was not necessarily well thought of what I was going for in this project, however me being the creator of this art piece I had finally decided that this canvas is able to show a feeling, thought and vision. It may be a good feeling or thought, at the end it all matters who sees this image and thinks to themselves, it really comes down to how you feel being the audience when you see it.

Sketches
Throughout this project I was able to make sketches in which I can stack one image on top of the other and create the sketch as one. I found this to be really creative and a fun way for me to find new ways to make sketches and see what I can do differently and if I can change the style of making my work. I believe that the sketches I made could have been a little more in detailed work, however during the creation of this artwork I was not as detailed as my other artworks.

Critique:
Reflection
At the end of this project I am able to say that I am not as satisfied with the outcome I got, I feel that I could have done a much more better job. However even if the outcome was not what I expected it to be I am able to say that I learned that not every artwork that I create will always be what we all expect in which in art I feel that we all learn from our mistakes and our past work. Me being the artist that I am, I took this piece of work to be a way for me to be able to find another way for me to find where it is that I can improve and what it is that I can do to change those mistakes or weaknesses for me to do better for my next upcoming projects.
Compare & Contrast
Comparing my project to my inspiration I am able to say that I did not fully connect to my inspiration as much because I feel that as I worked on this piece I was getting side tracked and went more on my own instead of connecting to my inspiration. However I learned that even if I did not get the right expectation to my artwork I was able to find the places of which I did a mistake or where I started to get side tracked and mislead of what I was really focusing on when I wanted to connect to my inspiration.
Contrasting my project to my inspiration there is a certain connection in which I can say that the similarities are not likely to be exact but I was able to get the right idea of what I was really going for. However, with the outcome I have I can say that I am able to have a small portion of contrast with my work and my inspiration because of how close they look alike and how they are getting the same idea of what I tried to acomplish.
